There are some places that never lose their magic no matter how many times you visit, and Boroka Lookout is one of those places for our family. Every trip to Halls Gap includes a stop here. The views are breathtaking, the walk is easy, and it’s one of the few lookouts where travelling with young kids feels genuinely relaxing.

Boroka Lookout is one of the best lookouts in the Grampians National Park, offering panoramic views over Halls Gap, Lake Bellfield, Fyans Valley and the surrounding mountain ranges. With easy access directly from the carpark, it’s a perfect stop for families, young children and visitors wanting incredible views without a long hike.

Located a scenic 20 minute drive from Halls Gap past the Wonderland Carpark, the journey to Boroka Lookout is almost as beautiful as the destination itself. The road winds through the mountains before finally revealing the spectacular lookout at the top.

The two large lookout platforms are accessed via a short 2 minute walk from the carpark, making them suitable for prams, young children and visitors with limited mobility. On clear days, the panoramic views stretch as far as the eye can see. Visiting at sunrise and sunset is still high on our Grampians bucket list — the photos I’ve seen look incredible.

Boroka Lookout is also equipped with public toilets which, if you’re travelling with kids, you’ll know is always appreciated because children somehow need the toilet at the most inconvenient times.

Last time we visited this Grampians lookout, the girls decided the platforms were the perfect place for gymnastics drills. Holding onto the rails overlooking the valley below, they practised arabesques while giggling to each other before racing between the two lookouts. These are the little moments that make travelling with kids so special — the unexpected memories you never plan for but end up treasuring the most.

How to Get to Boroka Lookout

Boroka Lookout is located approximately 20 minutes from Halls Gap by car. Head out of Halls Gap along Mount Victory Road before turning right onto Mount Difficult Road after around 10km. Continue a further 5km up the winding mountain road until you reach the Boroka Lookout carpark.

Best Time to Visit Boroka Lookout

Boroka Lookout is best visited on clear days for the best panoramic views. Winter is one of my favourite times to visit, with dramatic skies and crisp mountain air creating an even more spectacular landscape.

Sunrise and sunset also offer a unique experience, with soft light spreading across the valleys and mountain ranges. If visiting early in the morning or later in the evening, drive carefully as kangaroo activity is more common and the mountain roads can be winding with steep drop-offs in some areas.

Boroka Lookout is one of those rare places that delivers incredible views without requiring a long hike, making it perfect for families, young children and anyone wanting an easy way to experience the beauty of the Grampians National Park. It’s a stop we return to on every trip — and one we know we’ll continue revisiting for years to come.
