Why We’ll Come Back to Victor Harbor Holiday Park
If you're looking for an amazing family-friendly holiday park in South Australia, Victor Harbor Holiday Park should be at the top of your list. With two pools, a jumping pillow, mini golf course and an incredible water park featuring a hurricane waterslide, there is so much here for families.
We had an absolute blast at the water park — along with all of the other parents! There were just as many adults as there were kids going down the waterslides, and the atmosphere was fantastic. It was pure family fun. The only phones you saw were parents videoing their kids or kids videoing their parents. The smiles, laughs and fun everyone was having were infectious; you couldn't help but enjoy yourself.
The park itself is a mix of old and new. There are older cabins and facilities, but there are also plenty of newer cabins and improvements, including the water park.
One of the things that surprised us most was the price. This is the cheapest holiday park we have ever stayed at. We stayed on a powered site in our camper trailer and paid under $50 per night for two adults and two children. For everything included in our stay, we thought the value was unbelievable. We visited for a four-day weekend in April, the week before the school holidays, and the weather was perfect. Prices will vary depending on your dates, accommodation type and demand, but we thought the value was exceptional.
The girls made the most of the facilities, constantly moving between the water park, pools, jumping pillow and mini golf. It was hard to get them to leave the park — even though there is so much to see and do nearby. It also made the perfect base for us to explore the Fleurieu Peninsula.
One of our favourite memories from the trip was simply playing mini golf together as a family. Having mini golf included in our stay, rather than paying extra for it as we have at other holiday parks, was really refreshing.
That's probably what stood out to us most about Victor Harbor Holiday Park: affordable family fun genuinely feels like it's at the heart of the park. It isn't just somewhere for the kids to have fun while the adults watch from the sidelines — it's somewhere you can all enjoy together.
We're hoping to return to the Fleurieu Peninsula in early 2027, and we'll absolutely be staying here again.
If you're looking for a family-friendly holiday park where you can have just as much fun as the kids, Victor Harbor Holiday Park is definitely worth considering.

What were the disadvantages of this site:
We encountered quite a few bees around our site, so we needed to keep drinks and food covered. The girls also spent a fair amount of time running away from them!

South Australia Whale Centre: Learn about the majestic whales and enjoy interactive exhibits.
Goolwa: Visit the mouth of the Murray River and gateway to the Coorong. The Coorong is renowned for its beach fishing.
Second Valley Beach: This gorgeous beach is not to be missed. Walk along the Second Valley Jetty, have a fish or try your luck finding squid. Second Valley Beach is also one of the world’s best shore-diving or snorkelling locations to spot the leafy seadragon.
Final Thoughts
Victor Harbor Holiday Park gave us exactly what we want from a family getaway: affordable accommodation, plenty for the girls to do and facilities that we could all enjoy together.
We spent four nights here, but between the holiday park and everything waiting beyond its gates, we could easily have stayed longer. The girls loved the waterslides and horse-drawn tram, Chris is still talking about Rapid Bay, and I loved discovering the secluded beaches scattered along the Fleurieu Peninsula.
We’re already hoping to return in early 2027. For us, that probably says more than anything else—we wouldn’t hesitate to stay at Victor Harbor Holiday Park again.
